Turn again, my daughters, go [your way]; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, [if] I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, [one] of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
[Is] not [this] thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and [why] art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him [for] the help of his countenance.

For thou [art] my hope, O Lord GOD: [thou art] my trust from my youth.
But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: [but] I hope in thy word.
Thou [art] my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD [there is] mercy, and with him [is] plenteous redemption.
Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God:
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, [and] they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
Be not a terror unto me: thou [art] my hope in the day of evil.
And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
