World English Bible





The World English Bible - The World English Bible is a public domain update of the the American Standard Version (1901). The American Standard Version, which was also known as The American Revision of 1901, is based on a project that began in 1870 to convert the King James Bible into modern english. The America Standard translation included the New Testament (published in 1881), the Old Testament (published in 1885), and the Apocrypha (published in 1894).

World English Bible - The goal of producing the World English Bible was to create a public domain bible that would be understandable by English speakers world-wide. The bible is translated into modern English. The translation includes the Apocryphal books from the original (KJV). World English Bible.

Apocrypha - These Apocrypha books were included in the original King James Version of the bible and many others. This collection of ancient books was kept in a separate section between the Old and New Testaments or as an appendix. Printers of the bible decided to exclude the appendix and/or additional section. The Complete Sayings of Jesus - This is the King James version of Christ's own words. This collection organizes and presents every word spoken by Jesus in one place and provides an index to assist in finding specific ocassions, places and events. The complete sayings is a must read for bible study.

The Childrens Bible - The childrens bible provides bible lessons from the Old and New testaments. There are 216 stories written in plain english. The stories are easy to read but not just for childern. I enjoy reading the childrens bible and almost everyone does. The Childrens Bible.

The Handwriting on The Wall - The phrases "the handwriting is on the wall" and "you are weighed in the scales and found wanting" are both used today.
